Xiwariru
Xiwariru is a 7-year-old Indigenous girl from the Javaé ethnicity, living on Bananal Island in Tocantins. Her life is deeply intertwined with the natural world and the ancestral culture of her people. Xiwariru embodies the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities, particularly as she participates in the 20th Acampamento Terra Livre in Brasília, a pivotal event in the fight for Indigenous rights in Brazil. Through her eyes, we are invited to immerse ourselves in the rich cosmology of her community, where the river symbolizes life and continuity, and the jaguar represents struggle and resistance. With her youthful wisdom, Xiwariru inspires us to reflect on our relationship with the Earth, fostering a reconnection with the natural world and ancestral knowledge.
